More Tasty Trailers

Yummy Trailers

On our 30th anniversary, one of the things we did to celebrate was go to the vintage travel trailer show in Albuquerque. It is easy to imagine how fun it would be to have the time and resources to go on the road with a sweet little home behind you. If only it were so.....

Check out some of my favorites of the day.

More

What's been keeping me busy with other than kntting has been remodeling our bedroom and master bath. We laid the slate ourselves, after the tortuous assignment of chinking out the existing quite nice tile in the bathroom in order to run the slate throughout.

So here's the results so far!

The Infamous Angora Booties and More

I'm pretty slacker on the posting so far, but for your viewing pleasure, the booties!

Yarn Thief!

Last night I decided to knit some angora baby booties for my niece's newborn daughter. Hit the stash for some beautiful variegated pink angora, and began the booties from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. Put down the knitting for a few minutes (but did not ZIP my knitting bag), and when I sat down again to finish the first bootie, I made a sad discovery. My evil Golden Retriever, Biscuit (who has been known to have intimate contact with yarn before), had bitten off the ball of yarn........and I'm fairly certain she ate it.

Of course I am concerned that the yarn successfully makes it way through my dog, but I'm still pretty pissed off. Now I have to break out another ball of angora from my stash.......and try to get the bootie back on the needles. Such a sweet, simple project; gotta let the frustration go. Last time Biscuit ate an (admittedly) small ball of silk I had spun--probably the best spinning I'd ever done, no doubt due to the beautiful silk I was working with. It was eventually deposited in various locations in the backyard, by the evil retriever. I guess I should have known better. The scent of rabbit was just too enticing!

Vacation Knitting

Pulling it all together for a quick five-day trip to the bay area to visit my family for my father's 80th birthday . I am bringing my three daughters (19, 27 & 28) along too, and look forward to seeing our family, the ocean, visiting the local yarn shops and beginning a new knitting project (Fitted Knits Cropped Cardi). Poor husband is staying home to hold down the fort, which is quite a responsibility with all the pets. Hopefully it will be good and hot for him while I am away (his favorite temperature is HOT)!

7 Random Things

So I've had the "honor" of being tagged, and I surely deserve it, as I've had this blog "under construction" for too long now. Hope I can figure out how to tag someone else! The rules are: List 7 random things about yourself, flag 7 others, direct them to your site to get the rules.

Seven Random Things About Me:

1. I have a household filled with animals: two parrots, two goldfish, three dogs (Golden Retriever, Bearded Collie Mix, and English Bulldog), three cats, and 6.75 more cats who currently serve as grandchildren (my three daughters' cats, including one three-legged cutie).
2. I love motor sports, and this year's special adventure will be the AC Delco NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada.
3. I recently tested allergic to every native grass and tree in New Mexico (as well as almost everything else I was tested for).
4. My beloved English Bulldog has recently become a gopher hunter. I'm hopeful she can help defend my fledgling vegetable garden.
5. I am currently in the process of designing a knitting-related tattoo.
6. I am a VERY cheap drunk.
7. I met my husband by buying a used VW Beetle from him 32 years ago, and I still love him dearly.

Now, I need to finish my Sahara............and my Mike-arita, which ought to make my knitting more challenging!
